HYGEOS specialize in the processing, the interpretation and the validation of data from Earth Observation satellites, in the field of optics. It carries out studies, algorithmic developments and software prototypes. It works in partnership with research and service institutes. Our clients are mostly agencies or industrials of the space sector.

HYGEOS involves 9 salaried employees (four Ph. D., a Ph. D. student - CIFRE, two IT engineers, a system administrator and an assistant), carries out research activities and had the status of Innovative Young Business between 2004 and 2009 (maximum allowed legally).

The Earth Observation (EO) team specializes in the implementation of Remote Sensing research results on the processing, the interpretation and the validation of satellite datas. As part of this, the EO team carries out feasibility studies and software prototypes. It works in partnership with research institutes with a dual aim : the technology transfer and the growing of its Research & Development capability. Our clients are the major ordering parties of the spatial sector, for example the National Center for Spatial Studies (CNES) or the European Spatial Agency, for which HYGEOS validate the geophysical results coming from the MERIS sensor (MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) embedded on the ENVISAT satellite (ENVIronment SATellite) since march 2002.

The satellite is a more and more often used tool for environmental supervision, as a complement to the standard measuring apparatus, which are mostly on ground or at sea. Our know-how in the field of signal processing (radiative transfer in the atmosphere and in water) puts us in the ideal position to develop applications based on the qualitative and quantitative interpretation of satellite images.

Thus, HYGEOS take part in R&D projects using this spatial tool, in the field of air quality and coastal water quality

HYGEOS sits upstream from the technology transfer process, and therefore is in really close relation with laboratories. The company exercises research activities, offers flexibility to the laboratories, and a scientific guarantee to its clients. R&D takes a significant part at HYGEOS.

In this high technology sector, constant innovation is a need, and that's why the HYGEOS SCOP carries on a strong association policy with the Superior Research Institutes (for example via the CIFRE conventions).
